101 Things about Wild Child
I wanted to celebrate my 100th blog post. But I’m not always conventional, so I decided to celebrate my 101st one instead!
I’m going to share with you 101 things about me. Good, bad and otherwise! And in a completely random, as I think of them order!
Enjoy!
- I’m only 5” 2.5” tall. I’ve been this height since 8th grade. And yes I need to add the .5”
- I have 8 tattoos. It was suggested that I list each one individually, but I will be a big girl and not. LOL I love them all. And I don’t regret any of them. I was 21 when I got my first one. I was in my mid-30’s when I got my right arm sleeved. Getting the tops of my feet tattooed hurt the worst out of all of them.
- I had my daughter two months after graduating from high school. But I graduated. On time and with high honors. (My nerdiness goes way back!)
- I waited 12 years before having another child. And I won’t be having anymore – thankyouverymuch
- I have very very thick hair. Everytime I get a new person to cut my hair the following conversation takes place: Me – “I have very thick hair.” Hairsytlist – “I’m sure you do.” Time elapse 5 minutes when they are washing my hair… Hairstylist – “wow, you weren’t kidding, you have a lot of hair!” Every time this happens. Without fail. However my hair is also very straight. I would love a bit of a wave.
- I don’t like flavored coffee. At all. I like my coffee, coffee flavored. And black. No cream or sugar.
- However, I’ve been introduced to those Starbucks Dark Chocolate Frapa-somethings, and O. M. G. How exactly do they get heaven in a bottle like that?
- My favorite colors are pink and purple
- I started running in 2005. I had never run before that. I started with C25K and during the first week I remember watching the whole time praying for that 60 seconds of running to be over.
- Running was the first thing I did just for me. Someone in my life at the time I started running told me I shouldn’t do it. She was wrong. It’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself
- I learned how to properly swim in February and March for my April sprint triathlon.
- I started riding a bicycle after 20 years on Christmas Day 2009. 3 ½ months before my April sprint triathlon.
- Since I started running it’s been a goal of mine to complete a half marathon. I’m signed up for two! 1st one August 29th and 2nd one October 10th!
- I set a goal in January 2010 – to run 250 miles this year. I exceed that goal as of July 31st! 251 miles!
- New goal – run 400 miles by December 31st!
- I have never had a cavity. Or any sort of major dental work. Worst thing ever (so far), braces for 9 months in high school and all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. Neither was really that bad though.
- I have wanted to be a lawyer since we had to learn about the Constitution in the 8th grade. Interestingly enough, when I was in Constitutional Law last year I hated it. But I passed and that’s all that matters, right!?
- I went into accounting after I had my daughter because it was easy for me and it paid decent.
- I stayed in accounting for 12 years.
- After 12 years I decided I didn’t want to get my Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, nor did I want to be in accounting for the rest of my working years.
- I refuse to get rid of my crutches. I’ve done it twice before and then needed them. Now I’m superstitious about it. They stay. End of discussion.
- There is something about my feet that just calls out to be injured. I’ve broken both pinkie toes (snapped the left one clean in half – it was pointing 90 degrees away from the rest of the toes, it was quite disturbing). I tripped and fell a couple weeks ago. Landed on my hands and knees (ya, I’m graceful, what?). But you know what got injured? The top of my foot. How does that even happen?
- I want to go to Bora Bora. Really bad.
- The only other country I’ve been to is Canada.
- I have never been on a cruise.
- I really really really (really) want to go on a cruise.
- I would love to take my son to a baseball game at every major league stadium. Man that would rock!
- I am terrified of heights. I get anxiety just thinking about it.
- I hate roller coasters. Partially for the reason above, but mostly because that “stomach in your throat feeling” isn’t fun for me. I’m not a fan of being terrified.
- I used to get strep throat all the time as a child. Docs refused to remove my tonsils. Then I had strep 6 times in the 9th grade. My step mom told the doctors they were taking out my tonsils. She’s scary. They took out my tonsils.
- I love the Oakland A’s. I even named my son after a former right handed pitcher. And one of my tattoos is the A’s logo.
- I love Coach & Dooney and Bourke purses. Which sucks right now because I am broke.
- I have seen Ocean’s Eleven 452 times. Well, actually I don’t know the real count, but I’ve seen it a ton. I don’t tire of that movie. LOVE (Didn’t like 12 or 13 though.)
- Friends is my all time favorite TV series. I’ve seen all the episodes like 452 times. This time I don’t think I’m exaggerating. However, I don’t own any of the seasons.
- My 2nd favorite series is Sex and The City.
- I’ve read all 4 of the Twilight books. Before they were a thing. Or at least before I’d ever heard of them. I loved them. I’ve seen all 3 movies. I think the books are much better, but I really do think the movies do a very good job of portraying the story.
- My newest favorite movie that I could (and probably will) watch a million times is The Hangover. (“Man, could you please put on some pants? I find it weird that I have to ask you twice.”)
- I could eat a chicken burrito every day. No joke.
- I hate bananas. And avocados. And any food creation associated with bananas or avocados.
- There is not a single salad dressing I like. I eat my salad dry. Or whatever you would call it when there is no dressing. My step-mom used to try and get me to put mayonnaise on my salad. Umm eww.
- I’ve recently decided that I want to not be beaten by the open water swim – and am committing to doing another sprint triathlon. Probably won’t be until next year.
- I really, really want to run across the Golden Gate Bridge. This is lame that it’s even on this list. I live like an hour away from the Golden Gate Bridge. I could get in my car, run across the bridge and be home before I finish this list.
- My ears are pierced a total of 10 times. 7 on one side and 3 on the other. I think. Hold please while I count. Yes, that’s correct.
- I feel much sexier when I am able to get my nails done. I love having pretty nails.
- I had so much fun doing my photo shoot in November 2008. I love my model pics.
- There was a time when I wanted to be a model. I was told I was too short and would never have a “model body.” I think I was 12 when I was told that.
- I need to keep a paper calendar. I have tried more than once to keep an electronic one. Just doesn’t work for me.
- I write down every debit, check and deposit in a check register. Everything.
- I balance my checkbook to the penny. Every week.
- I hate filing. I have at least 3 boxes of crap, I mean important papers, that need to be filed.
- I need to hurry up and finish this list. I only have one more post before I have to post this one. Crap. I’m not even halfway done.
- I am left handed.
- I’ve been told I have really good handwriting “for a leftie.”
- I was a cheerleader from 8th grade through 10th grade. I still have my 10th grade uniforms. And they still fit.
- I went through a NWA, Easy E, Gansta rap phase in high school.
- Remember “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix Alot? Think about the very beginning of the song… (Oh. My. God. Becky. Look at her butt…) Ya – this became and forever will be the “Beki has a big butt” song.
- I surprise myself when I accomplish things that I never thought I could or would do.
- I honestly feel like I am here to do something big. Inspirational. Take my community by storm.
- However, when someone tells me I inspire them, it feels weird. Maybe because I know how hard I fight to just keep myself motivated.
- Yes, I’m an overachiever. Always have been. Likely always will be.
- I am far harder on myself than anyone else ever could be.
- I am working on learning how to be gentler and more understanding to me.
- I’ve started writing a book. It’s a novel (or will be someday). I’ve started developing the main character and her history, as well as some of the other characters. I haven’t worked on it in about 6 months. I’m looking forward to getting back to it. Someday.
- I hate getting my eyebrows waxed. I mean I like the way they look after it’s done but it really hurts! You have no idea how much crap I get for this. “You mean you can stand to get tattooed for hours on end, but you are a baby about getting your eyebrows waxed?” “Yes. Very much so.”
- I am an Aries. My moon is in Pisces. So I’m competitive and aggressive, but sensitive? Aries is fire, Pisces is water – and (not that I’m completely into astrology), I do feel more ruled by my emotions (moon).
- The day I decided to go to law school I watched Legally Blonde. I absolutely big puffy heart love that movie!
- I learned how to crochet when I was 9 from my grandma. I’ve won 1st place ribbons at the county fair for stuff I’ve made. I’m currently finishing up a super cute tank and cardigan.
- I hate to sew.
- That is partially why the super cute tank / cardigan is not completed yet.
- I completely love Facebook and Twitter! My daughter forced me to get a MySpace account in 2006. I never really got that into it. Then some friends from high school kept peer pressuring me to join FaceBook. I joined in January 2009. I am completely hooked on, and love social media!
- The fundraising event, Treading for a Cure, is so much bigger than anything I’ve ever done. I’m excited. And completely terrified.
- I do not like the design of the Nissan Cube. I think it’s totally stupid looking.
- My favorite drink is a Cosmopolitan (thanks Sex and the City!)
- My favorite candy bars are Milky Way bars and 3 Muskateers. Mmmm nougat!
- I own 3 pairs of stripper shoes.
- I also own a stripper pole. Yep. Don’t judge.
- When I started taking classes at the local pole dance exercise studio (iCandy), my step-mom seriously asked me, “This isn’t going to be your next profession, is it?” Ummm, seriously? I had to sit down from laughing so hard.
- When I was in my early 20’s a guy I had a crush on told me that I wasn’t pretty enough for him, that I was just a “Plain Jane.” I still struggle against believing that is true. Even though I couldn’t tell you the jerk’s name or what he looked like. I can tell you if someone told me that today, I would tell them to “Fuck off” and then punch them in the throat.
- I’ve had my nose pierced since I was in my early 20′s.
- I one time got perfect balance on the Wii fit!
- Math was my favorite subject in school. Algebra was my most favorite.
- I do not enjoy musicals as a general rule.
- I enjoy going on long runs by myself. It’s my me time.
- I am super proud of my straight teeth and still wear my retainer to this day. 20 years after my braces were removed.
- I was totally right about #42. I have now run across the Golden Gate bridge! Felt great to cross that off my bucket list!
- I have a serious office supply problem. I love buying pens, and post it notes, and notepads, & you name it! It is a requirement for me to stay out of places like Office Depot and Staples. Back to school time is very scary for me.
- My blog is not what I thought it would be when I started it. And that is a good thing.
- I love diet Dr. Pepper.
- I do not like fountain drinks. I think they taste weird.
- I got on the Jumbo-tron at a San Francisco 49ers game once. I got picked out of the crowd to answer a trivia question. I won round trip airfare to somewhere. But I couldn’t afford to go anywhere, so I think they just expired.
- I wakeboarded for the first time last year. It was really fun.
- I love my iPhone. Probably too much.
- I giggle like a teenage boy when I see or hear “69”. No matter what the setting. I just can’t help myself. I never claimed to be mature.
- I went through a country music phase.
- I used to go (all the time) to the one country bar that is in our county (Kodiak Jacks) and ride the mechanical bull.
- I would not ride a mechanical bull now. Even if there was alcohol involved.
- This year I started my garden from seeds. I didn’t buy one starter plant.
- I graduated high school in 1991.
- I graduated from the junior college in 2001.
- I will graduate from law school in 2011.
- I think it’s kinda cool to have all my graduation years end in 1.
I can’t believe I made it to 101! Who knew there was that much stuff about lil’ ole me?
If you finished this, thank you! I hope you enjoyed it!
I enjoy blogging and I am looking forward to many, many more posts! Is there something you know about me that I didn’t mention here?
